Our Vacation Policy

By Alona Golubyeva

At TREIZE, we firmly believe that freedom and responsibility go hand in hand. That’s why we have a unique vacation policy: there’s no vacation policy.
This might sound surprising, but for us, it perfectly reflects the trust we place in our team.

Rather than imposing strict rules on when and how many vacation days can be taken, we let each team member decide when they need to take a break. Whether it’s for a day, a week, or a month (or a strategic escape from the harsh Quebec winter), everyone is free to choose when they need time off. In short, we want to do good to feel good, and feel good to do good.

No need for endless approvals or submitting requests three months in advance. At TREIZE, a simple form is all it takes to inform the team, and voilà, you’re off on your next adventure (or spending a day in pajamas binge-watching your favorite shows—we don’t judge). This autonomy allows everyone to manage their time off easily while respecting the needs of the collective.

TREIZE TEAM TRAVELS

Beyond work, this freedom and autonomy also allow us to enjoy enriching experiences around the world. This year, our team has explored many inspiring places, bringing back unforgettable memories… and PowerPoints that we won’t forget anytime soon.

Each return from a trip is an opportunity for a PowerPoint presentation to share our adventures, from the places visited to the strange dishes tasted. And of course, we always throw in a few photos to make those who stayed behind a little jealous. Here’s a glimpse of the places our team explored this year:

Alona ➝ Sardaigne, ItaliA / Cuba

Jean-François ➝ Playa Mujeres, MexiCO

Laurence ➝ Orlando, FloridA

Thierry ➝ JapAn

RAPHAËL ➝ Gaspésie

These trips, and many more, reflect our culture of freedom, but also our individual responsibility to maintain team cohesion and honor our professional commitments. Every member of TREIZE knows they can take time for themselves without affecting the quality of work or the team spirit.

At TREIZE, our vacation policy doesn’t need strict rules. We know that freedom, trust, and responsibility are essential values for both well-being and productivity. We’re free to take time off when we need it while remaining fully committed to our projects and colleagues. And our travels, just like our projects, are a testament to the strength of this culture.
