Internships at TREIZE, a resounding yes!

By TREIZE

Simon: Hello, I’m Simon, a final-year student in multimedia integration techniques at Cégep Saint-Jérôme (the best, as Ricardo would say).

My web developer profile aligns well with the definition of “technical”: I enjoy racking my brain and always have a Rubik’s Cube nearby.

I leaned towards TREIZE because I had only heard good things: a great experience, a stimulating office environment, team support, and, most importantly, working on real projects. As a bonus, several people at TREIZE had gone through the same program, so it was a no-brainer for me.

Marie-Pier: Hello, I’m Marie-Pier (MP for close friends), a final-year student in multimedia integration techniques at Cégep Édouard-Montpetit. I’m more passionate about front-end development and everything that involves more creativity in development. The first time I spoke with JF, I immediately felt the enthusiasm and energy he put into his work and his team. I told myself: I want to spend 36 hours a week at TREIZE!

And there you have it! Here we are already writing an article summarizing our final college internship at TREIZE!

During our internship, we had the chance to experience many things. From web development for real clients, to our first steps in an agency, and even a trip to the sugar shack, let us tell you that a lot happened, and we are leaving with our heads full of new knowledge, good memories, but most importantly, anecdotes to share!

COVID Strikes Back

Simon: During my first week at TREIZE, the agency’s new website was launched.

This big launch week was followed by a COVID-19 attack that took down most of the team. Yes, this beautiful beast is still around and made me experience my first days of remote work the following week. Fortunately, the team is very well organized, which allowed me, despite everything, to adapt well.

Tools like ClickUp, Slack, and Google Meet allow for seamless and efficient work from the office or home.

The Ice Storm Saga

Marie-Pier: The day after the rather violent ice storm.

Like a good portion of the team, I woke up without electricity. Even the office, which had never experienced this before, unfortunately suffered. It didn’t take long for everyone to switch to “solution” mode.

Some went to their parents’ homes, others to friends’, or some, like me, went to a cafe. Jean-François even transformed his home into a TREIZE office for a day to accommodate those in need. Once again, Simon and I observed the team’s ease in adapting to almost any situation. It must also be said that finishing the day at 12:30 PM on Friday facilitated the organization of this whole affair.

Which goes to show that there can be more advantages than one might think to having a 4.5-day work week. 😉

In short, these adventures from our first weeks allowed us to realize that even in the professional world, everyone must continue to learn and constantly adapt to new situations that arise. We are truly happy to have found a humane team that will de-dramatize daily situations to make everything lighthearted and amusing.

Are you a final-year student in multimedia integration, design, management, marketing, or another field? Would you like to do an internship at TREIZE (and come to the sugar shack with us)? We generally take one to two people per year for internships, which we like to convert into full-time jobs when the fit is good.

Send us your application at jobs@treize.pro.
