As the Sales Manager at TREIZE, I manage a multitude of calls and video conference meetings every day with prospective and existing clients. In a typical week, I would say I have between 5 and 10 sales-related meetings. Previously, taking manual notes during these moments was not only imperfect because I often missed bits or lacked clarity in my note-taking, but it also prevented me from focusing 100% and staying engaged with the client. Above all, when I came back to my notes a few days/weeks later, it was always a mess and I often mixed up information between clients). For the past few months, integrating Fireflies.ai into my process has been a game changer! I present its main benefits below!
Automated summaries
Each meeting is followed by a detailed summary that highlights key points, action items (TODOs), and decisions made. This makes it easy to recall the important information from a meeting.
Audio recording, full transcription, and easier search
The tool provides a full verbatim transcript of each meeting, making it easy to search for specific terms like “deadline”, “budget”, or “objectives”. This feature is essential for quickly and efficiently finding crucial information without having to listen back to hours of recordings. The transcription is not always perfect, mainly because Fireflies.ai is less comfortable in French than in English, but it is still very effective and the words are well segmented, which really makes it easier to search for key information.
In addition, since the audio is recorded, you can always click on a paragraph and the tool will start the audio recording at the right timecode. So, if part of the transcription is a bit shaky, it is often very useful to be able to listen to the audio version easily, without having to replay the entire meeting.
AskFred, the built-in AI assistant
Fireflies.ai includes an AI assistant, AskFred, that can answer specific questions about the content of a meeting. For example, asking “What are the next steps?” provides an immediate answer without having to dig through notes manually. This is really useful when you have questions that cannot be answered with a simple word search. Here are a few example questions AskFred could help you with:
- Were any issues raised during the meeting?
- Can you list the competitors Alexandre referred to?
- What are the main project challenges?
- What action plan did Nathalie propose?
- What was mentioned about their selection method?
- Is it possible to list each person’s expectations?
- What is each person’s involvement in this project?
- What are the next steps?
Conversation intelligence
Conversation intelligence makes it much easier to understand your meetings, both through the details of a specific meeting and through consolidating information across all your meetings. You can, among other things, filter conversations by the people involved and by topic. Fireflies.ai will also analyze the emotions of the people in the meeting, so you can feel the vibe of each meeting.
It can also be very relevant if you want to improve, or help teammates improve, by providing metrics such as:
- Number of questions asked
- Length of monologues per person
- Use of filler words
- Time spent talking vs. time spent listening
And more…
There are plenty of other features that seem interesting, but that I have not started using yet, either due to my plan’s limits (I use the “Pro” plan) or because I have not explored them in depth.
That said, adopting Fireflies.ai in my day-to-day has transformed the way I manage client interactions. I am now genuinely better in my role, knowing that every important discussion is captured, summarized, and easily accessible—and that I can be more engaged in each of my meetings.
